A hinge pin and earring post are broken and lost. Attempting to flame-solder the pieces back in place is ill-advised with hollow silver jewelery such as this. Doing so would virtually guarantee the torch-heated spot will crumple inward.
Microwelding permits silver to be directly fused to silver without using solder alloys or heat.
The repaired silver earrings are cleaned and polished.
